Waltersdorf lays on the foot of the Lausche ; with 793 m the highest mountain of the Zittauer Gebirge. Its 230 monument-protected half timbered houses make the village to a magnificent place. For the vacationer a great attraction consists absolutely in spending their vacation once in one of the old, cosy homes.

The village offers to his guests more than 50 km of well signposted footpaths. In winter Waltersdorf has more than 4 ski lifts, traced cross-country trails and sledge slopes. In addition, the place offers a rich choice on things to do for his guests, for example, local guidance along the monument path, torch wanderings and ski wanderings.

Through the two (tourist) border crossings to Czech Republic, the guest can undertake wanderings in the bohemian part of the mountains.
