Oybin is called the pearl of the Zittauer Gebirge. The place lies protected in a
valley at the foot of the mountain Oybin, to a sandstone formation in the shape of a beehive.
On the mountain the ruins
of a castle Leipa and a Cölestiner monastery are located. In them are given in the summer choir and concerts. If one
follows the way by the cloister, one gets to the majestic mountain grave yard, one of the nicest in Germany. During the
last years there were extensive safeguarding measures, because the cemetery threatened to fall. In addition, one should
by no means miss the mountain museum and also not forget the ring way around the mountain Oybin.
On the way to the mountain
Oybin is the baroque mountain church located as another place of interest. In summer the popular "evening music by
candlelight" takes place here.
